Dynamic Taping TM is a novel approach developed by a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist, that uses a specially designed, highly elastic tape to contribute energy into the kinetic chain. It is not designed to limit range like rigid tapes but rather to permit full range whilst still providing strong support where needed. The unique properties and four way stretch permits taping in ways not previously possible with rigid tapes, non wovens or Kinesio Tapes such as Tex Tape, Balance Tape or RockTape. In saying this we do not see it as a replacement for other tapes but rather as an additional clinical tool to assist in treatment or technique correction.
The result is a tape that can contribute elastic potential energy to assist or resist, facilitate or inhibit and offload or deload soft tissues in addition to the normal proprioceptive, neurophysiological and circulatory effects of conventional tapes. In many cases, the tape acts as a second muscle, the elasticity mimicing the action of the injured muscle. The Dynamic Taping method is completely different from Kinesio Taping or other taping methods. It is easily incorporated into clinical practice to enhance the effectiveness of treatment immediately. Dynamic Taping is a genuinely biomechanical approach to taping.

The tape is extremely soft to touch and highly conformable. The adhesive has been independently tested and rated as non irritating, non sensitizing and non toxic. It is also applied in thin strips to enhance the skin's ability to breathe. The fabric itself is also highly breathable and allows water through to the skin yet can be patted dry in seconds. All this combines to produce a well tolerated, long lasting tape that is quite possibly the most comfortable athletic tape on the market.
